Klea was born in the Philippines and grew up across three worlds: Atlanta, an international compound in Saudi Arabia, and a farm town in Illinois. Everywhere she landed, the fastest way into a new place was its celebrations. Weddings, feast days, graduations: that’s where a culture opens the door and lets you see in.
That belief is the heart of Events By Klay. A wedding is not a checklist to survive. A wedding is the door your families walk through into each other’s lives, and someone has to hold it open while you walk through.
Klea spent years managing complex cases and logistics before she started coordinating weddings, and she brings that same operations backbone to your day. Timelines, vendors, contracts, contingencies: behind the warmth is a system. She’s a mom of two little ones, so she also knows exactly what it means to be out of hours and still need everything done.
She came home to the Metro East and asked herself what she was genuinely good at. The answer: planning, organizing, gardens and flowers, and real human connection. Since 2021 she has coordinated more than twenty weddings across the region, from SIUE Gardens and The Ink House to the City Museum and the Jewel Box, and she is comfortable running celebrations of 300-plus guests. This fall she coordinates her first Filipino wedding, a full-circle day she can’t wait for.
